We have come to know and love Ty as we have watched him for over 20 years on some of the nation’s top home improvement shows from TLC‘s Trading Spaces, to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on ABC, to TNT, The Food Network, to currently starring on HGTV‘s Battle on the Beach as well as the network’s highest rated mega series, Rock the Block.

Meet TV’s Celebrity and Real Estate Advisor Maya Vander on Saturday and Sunday of the Miami Home Show! Maya is one of the most recognized professionals in the Luxury Real Estate market here in South Florida.

Formerly living in Los Angeles and a part of the Top rated series, Selling Sunset, Maya will be offering her real estate tips, insights and perspective to the TV show.

Alena Capra
Meet TV’s Celebrity Designer Alena Capra! Alena is an award-winning interior designer, with over 18 years of industry experience, as well as the host of the weekly home design television show airing on WPLG, SoFlo Home Project. Her Fort Lauderdale based firm, Alena Capra Designs, has completed projects throughout South Florida, as well as in New York, California, Arizona, Massachusetts, and Minnesota. She is a residential interior designer, as well as a Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer (CMKBD), whose projects have been featured in numerous media outlets.

A graduate of both the University of Miami, and the Metropolitan Institute of Design, Capra was named to Kitchen & Bath Design News  “2019: 50 Innovators List,” was one of six “Praiseworthy Pics” for Kitchen & Bath Business Magazine’s 2019 “Person of the Year” feature, and one of four finalists for the National Kitchen and Bath Association’s 2016 Professional of the Year. Her designs have won national awards such as Cosentino’s 2016 Bath of the Year, and have placed in the NKBA national design competition. 

Alena has served as the Industry Ambassador for Coverings, the largest global tile stone exhibition in North America, for the past seven years.  For the past three years, Alena has also been a member of the judging panel for the Decorative Plumbing and Hardware Association’s prestigious, “Product of the Year.” Capra has also made a name for herself as an on-air personality, sharing her design expertise on local, and national television.  Prior to hosting WPLG’s SoFlo Home Project, she guest hosted several design segments on Lifetime’s Designing Spaces, and served as the lead designer on Operation Build (History Channel and A&E).She was also the behind the scenes designer for multiple episodes of season 1 of HGTV’s “Weekends With Luis.” 

Alena also enjoys lending her design talents to local charities, and has worked on numerous room makeovers with Make-A-Wish Foundation (Southern Florida chapter), as well as design projects for the Salvation Army of Broward County, Ronald McDonald House, and Kid Sanctuary Campus.

Diana "Didi" Contreras

Diana Contreras has established herself as a prolific Miami-based artist. From painting murals in the street art scene to exhibiting in various galleries, her work has been seen in exhibitions and private collections in several parts of the world.

Contreras’s primary medium is oil yet, she enjoys experimenting with anything she can make a mark with or on. Her work deals with femininity set in whimsical portraiture. With a distinct style, Contreras’s work merges her love for illustration and urban art with the classical techniques of the Masters.
